  • As of October 1, 2018, the Rainforest Alliance transitioned its sustainable tourism and forestry auditing services and business, including all related services, personnel and clients, to its long-time partner, Preferred by Nature (formerly NEPCon).

  • Are you a farmer interested in getting Rainforest Alliance certified?

    Wondering what’s involved? The Rainforest Alliance is offering the Herbs & Spices Program in collaboration with the Union for Ethical Biotrade (UEBT) and many herbs, spices and herbal tea ingredient producers will get certified against the UEBT/RA requirements.     Please read the page and make sure you want to be certified against the Rainforest Alliance Certification Program based on the 2020 Sustainable Agriculture Standard.

  • Interested in purchasing crops from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms?

    A company can seek Rainforest Alliance certification if they are sourcing or plan to source volumes that originate from a Rainforest Alliance Certified farm. Explore sourcing options using our Certificate Search and Public Summaries.

    Step 1: Get Rainforest Alliance Certified According to the Supply Chain Requirements


    This will allow your company to easily source and sell products with one of the Rainforest Alliance marks. It will help you meet the rising demand for more sustainable products. You’ll be able to access new markets, reduce your risks, and get support at the same time.

    Step 2: Promote your sustainability commitments to your customers

    Once certification has been achieved companies are able to sell and label products as certified. The following conditions apply if you want to claim volumes and/or products as Rainforest Alliance Certified on a product label or related promotional materials:

    • Review information on the New Rainforest Alliance Certification Seal, including the labeling policy and seal graphic guidelines.

  • If brand new to working with Rainforest Alliance:

    You can now register on our Rainforest Alliance Certification Platform to get licensed and certified against the 2020 Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agricultural Standard. To help you register, we recommend reading the Quick Start Guide in your language and watching the registration demo.

  • To get certified, your farm will need an audit:

    You can now register on our Rainforest Alliance Certification Platform (RACP) to get licensed and certified against the 2020 Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agricultural Standard. To help you register, we recommend reading the Quick Start Guide in your language and watching the registration demo.

    To prepare for the audit, review and make sure you comply with all the applicable requirements of the Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture Standard. By filling out all necessary information in the RACP, the system will provide you an overview of the requirements which are specifically applicable for you.

    Once prepared, find an authorized certification body near you to schedule an audit.

In January 2021 we started the transition to the new Rainforest Alliance Certification Program, based on the 2020 Sustainable Agriculture Standard. This means as of July 1st, 2021 certification is only possible against the 2020 Sustainable Agriculture Standard.
